I love how people are saying consoles are holding back PC games when Bethesda said themselves 90% of its customers are console gamers....
That is WHY consoles are holding back the PC aspect of the gaming industry. Because the corporate developers, out of financial obligation to investors, MUST cater to the market that will net them the most gains.
PC technology is far ahead of consoles, yet because the console market is so big, the developers must design the games to accomodate the limited technology inherrant in consoles.
Bethesda could be successful enough if they developed for PC only. The Elder Scrolls was exclusive to PCs until Morrowind, and Arean and Daggerfall made them a TON of money. However, it is not in a corporate developer's nature to settle for "successful enough." It is their nature to strive to be "As successful as possible"
