What's with the Jarl pose?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:49 pm

Why do the Jarls all slump in their chairs like they just finished a pretty deep bong hit and are flipping through some old Simpsons dvds, perhaps looking for the Lisa the Vegetarian or Homer at the Bat episode?

Lol I was thinking the same thing. And they all have the same exact pose.

They have an awesome pose honestly, some might say "Pimp pose" but honestly they just look like "I am far too busy being Jarl to be bothered with peasants like you"

I just want to smack them across the head and tell them to sit up straight.

Isn't that Conan's pose on the throne?

Honestly? I think it's awesome and intimidating: http://pix.playground.ru/download/gallery/276634/65adccebbdf2b3fe0a91eb2742604006.jpg

female jarls don't seem to sit the way men do

they sit like they're gracefully on the toilet

Seems the same as Thrall's old pose, the same as Conans... Probs a reference.

Oooh that's badass.

I also think it's awesome and intimidating, but it just doesn't fit for some Jarls at all.

Some female Jarls sit like the men do.

They look like Tony Montana, honestly

And the female Jarls look a bit too... uh... :/ too polite, I guess? Yeah, they're female, but I'd thought that being a Nordic Jarl they're more like Jordis and less like ysolda

Well, judging by the fact that female nords kick as much ass as males, even in Draugr form, I think it's justified.

They are weary, the situations they face are weighing them down. I would like to see their posture change, maybe according to how many times you have helped them, by the end of their quests they should be sitting straight and proud.

That's because it's the throne that makes the pose, not the fact it's male or female. My bet is you think of the Solutide Jarl which gets a "throne of humble sitting posture" while most other Jarls get a "throne of I'm better than you posture"

I like it. I like anything that adds variety to the game, even if it's slightly overused. It's better than having every character use the same sitting mechanic.
