Carriage travel needs to be fixed

Darzal Dres staggered wearily through the murk of falling snow, cursing the very day he came to this frigid wasteland. His entire body ached, recent wounds only partially soothed by his meager healing magicks. His back hurt the worst, and for a good reason. For the last mile and a half, the Dunmer had been hauling a sizable stack of various armor parts and weapons salvaged from his recent encounter with the Silver Hand. Dres knew full well that he was an easy prey for anyone right now, exhausted and encumbered so. He stubbornly pressed on however - he would get a good bit of gold from selling his trophies to the local armorer, and he needed every septim of it.

Ahead, Winterhold loomed through the gloom. Dres had no intention of visiting the town today; he only needed to hire a carriage that normally waited for its next fare near the gate. Several hours - even a day - spent traveling back to Whiterun would be miserable enough, but they were well worth not having to deal with the Stormcloaks.

Much to the Dunmer's delight, the carriage was there, its driver nodding off in boredom. Dres prodded him awake and threw his loot into the cart; it clanged loudly. The Dunmer reached for his purse, counting out the twenty septims that would get him back to the more hospitable Whiterun. As he took a seat in the back of the cart, the driver turned around with a sheepish grin.

"Eh." the man said. "Ah canna dee it. She won't go."
"Whatever you mean?" Dres inquired, his patience already wearing thin.
"Ah canna dee it. That's way too much load."
"Are you joking? I could transport it all on a horse myself! If I had one, anyway... And yours - yours has a CART!"
"No matteh. Ah canna dee it. She won't go. An', no refunds."

So yeah. I know fast-travel on your own is impossible while overloaded, but you should be able to take a cart. I'm tired of committing horse theft every time...

I once wanted to travel to Markath from Whiterun, to see, if my 'take the dwarf sword' item was bugged since it duped on the vendor into 2 swords. Now I'm marking this to read O-O

You can't travel with a carriage while overloaded?

How come? This is a serious oversight. Is carriages' main function not to carry burdens?

Agreed - moving house is a right pain, a carriage should be able to take more gear than you yourself can carry!

I JUST Discovered this the other day, the carriage driver can't recognize you getting on to the carriage while you're overloaded, it's rather odd, you just sit there waiting and he's telling you to hurry up.
Also they need to add more carriages, I'm playing a no Fast travel game and I didn't appreciate being stranded in Dawnstar or whichever of his destinations don't have have a Carriage.

Another thing that will have to wait for modding because Bethesda didn't think clearly enough.

What's the bug? On the carriage, you can be taken to places you've never been. (Ever seen the intro? where you are going to get beheaded and your fps drops if you look ahead?)

Weird to me that you guys noticed he was overloaded, instead of taking upon a load.

Yeah, there's not really any clear evidence of why it's not moving, either, haha. Just sitting there like an idiot while the drive is like, "Hurry up, I haven't got all day (because he definitely hasn't just sat there for weeks anyway)." I didn't realize it was because I was overencumbered after trying it a few times.

I don't understand what you mean but I get the suspicion you don't understand or care about what we're talking about.
