Rescue Mission bugged?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:02 pm

The Rescue Mission for the Companions is bugged so hard it's DISGUSTING. Out of all the quests to get glitched the third one in the series is glitched. It wants me to go rescue Wilhelm from a Fort, that's all fine but when I get to town the quest wont be completed. It simply refuses to be completed even if you place him on the marker.

I haft to say, I'm disappointed with all the glitches this game has to offer. If I'm going to be denied the ability to play 5%+ of the game then this is the last Bethesda game I will EVER buy.

It's not that bad. Most of the time if you reload your last save that will fix. This is why you should make many saves.

Of course out of ALL THE RESCUE MISSIONS to get I get the one that is broken. I'm so disappointed in Bethesda, they always have bugs and glitches but really, making one that disfigures the game and locks out a guild is just downright awful.

Whilst that is a good point, we shouldn't have to though should we? Don't get me wrong on this I enjoy Skyrim very much and I can understand all the work that has gone into it etc, but there is too many bugs in it, I expected the game to be 'polished' when it was released, not buggy and quest breaking.

I totally agree with you on that. What happens sometimes is the hardware whether it's your PC, X-box or PS3 gets hung up on a process and can break things or make it not respond. That is going to happen sometimes and there is nothing Bethesda can do about that. Hardware has problems from time to time. From my what I've seen so far with Skyrim is it's less buggy than Oblivion. So far I only have to things I can't complete. A bounty to turn in since it won't tell me where to find the person. A better journal would solve this problem. I need to return a flute to a person at the bard collage. I have the flute I know who to return it to, but the option never comes up to return the flute. I don't know how many hours I have but I do know I've done over 50 misc quests with no problems. I have found that finding the helm for Whitehold I think is the town that you can do that quest over and over again. I have don it three times so far. Not a big deal since a I get 750 gold each time I do it.

Wow no patch to fix this or a response. Do they not want to fix their [censored] game?

Will sometimes that will work, but not every single time. No I'm not lying about the quest working just fine for me. That seems to be the case with the bugs. I have seen other threads on here about this quest is broken and someone else says it works fine for me. The only other thing I can tell you to try is restart your system and try that last load and see if that fixes it. It can't hurt to try. There is another patch coming out. I think sometime this week. Not sure on that.

are you expecting a Bethesda dev to come on here and reply to you or something? Wait for a patch or a community patch. Sorry man but thats how gaming is. Get used to it.

Yes, I am expecting a dev to come and reply. It's THEIR game they're obliged to fix it if there's a problem plaguing players, if they don't want to fix it then they need to stop selling or let someone else fix it.
