Best (legal) way of getting gold

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:06 pm

Hi,

In Sacred I could go around and clean the countryside of evil and make a lot of gold. i did some quests too.
I made 200,000 in about a week without cheating...

In Skyrim, there are few quests and not much evil around the country.
I have $79 in gold for all the walking around I am doing...I have stolen a little and gone to jail.

I don't want to cheat - but there must be a better way???

Thanks,
Regan

I make a few thousand on crawl. I would have a bunch more, but that would mean I'd have to go from city to city to sell all the jewels I get because all the vendors run out of cash on me, so I resort to only selling the heavy stuff.

Make iron daggers. Enchant them with banish(and absorb health if you can). Sell daggers. The enchant brings it's value to like 1400(I think?) and it costs ~150ish if you buy everything(including soul gems). You can make thousands in a couple minutes.

Alchemy has aways been a good way to make gold, but it does mean you have to do a lot of collecting materials.

You don't get gold from walking around.

You get it from pillaging, killing and looting. You get it from merchants you sell loot to. Eventually you can learn to transmute iron into silver into gold.

Read the forum for a while. you will get lots of ideas on increasing crafting skills.

I found a tome in a mine north of Whiterun that transmutes iron to silver and silver to gold. Easy peasy.

200,000 should be enough gold to keep you through the whole game.

But the ways I make money....

Mine or buy iron ore. Turn it into gold ore with transmute, make rings out of the gold, (if you have soul gems, enchant before selling)

When you get soul gems, adding an enchantment to an item before selling it will net you a lot more coin than the item + gem would net you.

Perk up speechcraft for more money.

Ask the bar tenders for work, and they will give you a bounty (bandit works best). Find a chest at the entrance of the place, and fill it full of every item in the place. After you are fiished, fast travel back and forth so you can sell every item. You will also get a nice little chunk o change from finishing the bounty

Chop wood.... I would suggest and automated clicker so your eyes don't fall out of your head.....

Smithing is the way to go. Combined with all the dwemer loot and chunks of dwemer artifacts can be smelted to ingots. Each legendary level dwemer armor gives u around 500 gold. Also buying 5 oricalcum ingot and crafting a legendary orc armor gives u around 500 gold in profit too.

I do this. I made about 200 daggers, no lie. The only problem is actually selling them. I hate waiting all the time.

Ive made bank just by dungeon crawling... then selling the loot. But, like others have said, smithing/enchanting will get you some coinage too. Also... grab every potion you can while you are out exploring, they can add up to a nice payday.
