What will happen if I install the DX11 pack on a 10.1 card?

Thread title speaks for itself. Would the game stop working? Would it just crash? Would I get errors and glitches?

Isn't DX11 suppose to be backward compatible?

No, it would use the DX9 path, it's that simple.

1. You need a dx11 capable card for full dx11

2. You need windows 7 for dx11 as it's only built into windows 7, similar to when only vista could run dx10 and if you wanted dx10 and was on xp you'd have to upgrade to vista.

You will get better graphics, but not the full power of DirectX 11...

You will be able to install it. But at the moment you activate Dx11 in the options menu, the game will crash. Or rather, because you need to restart it probably for DX11, it won't start.

Your PC will blow up......

DX11 is not backward compatible.....if it were we would all be using dx9 and dx10 cards to play dx11.

The game will run but you will see no benefits of DX11

If this were a NORMAL game it would have been built for DX9,DX10,DX11 all at the same time and the game would auto select to what your hardware supports....ie BFBC2,.....but apparently it's easier and cheaper to release a game as dx9 and then throw patches at it.

Nothing will happen. Your game will play in DX9 OR 10.1 if they add 10.1.
