Will the High Res Textures and Dx11 Replace "extreme"?......

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 11:03 am

or will they be forced down our throats and set to a new default? I kinda want Dx11 to be a select-able option like in most games, like enable and disable Dx11 in advance options, so it should become playable in Dx11 with low res Textures........ kinda fear running out of Vram here.

There are two optional packages to install when 1.9 is released. A High resolution texture package and a DX11 effects and Tesselation package. You can install both, one of them or none of them and still enjoy the fixes present in 1.9

And most likely even if you install both of them you can choose whether to actually enable them, as the advanced graphics menu will be upgraded to reflect the new graphical capability.

Hopefully this time the "advanced" graphics will actually make a difference. The game does not run that well in MP even with all settings on 'high' and I have twin HD5850s in CrossFire(which is probly the cause, multi-GPU).

The game.cfg file is where i set my graphics settings, the mods have said we're gonna get a new white list of commands, here ladies and gentlemen is where the fun is to be found, not in the high very high extreme settings chit, even with the new advanced graphics options, the game.cfg is gonna trump all that.

If you guyz have played Metro 2033, they have the perfect example of what i mean, they have a Dx9>Dx10>Dx11 scroll, that would make life so much easier
