Fix the speed and melee!!!

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 3:39 pm

This issues has been bugging me since the very first day. When you're in a melee fight with someone, you hit them, they hit you, then they're GONE, OUT OF SIGHT! And then you die! It's as if the other person is speed hacking, no matter if they hack or not! And it isn't always because of lag... but whatever it is, it MUST be fixed in the next patch!!!

sorry but theres nothing to be fixed. You just lack of reflex because clearily he went behind you to avoid you hitting him again. It's called "dodge tactic".sometimes it happened to me too and i can cleairly see that the guy went behind me and hit me.

No, he disappears near-instantly as if it was lagging. Sometimes I win the melee fights, sometimes I don't. When I look on the kill cam it looks like I'm speed hacking.

When someone else is looking, it looks as if they're running around in circles

If they decided to take melee out right now, I'd be a happier man.

I mostly don't mind melee. I lose a fair bit though, especially when their ping is 400.

Melee is a critical aspect of modern FPS games. Deal with it.

Melee is lame and not critical at all. It's an easy kill up close when really melee shouldn't actually kill most of the time.

It is absolutely a critical aspect, and is usually not an easy kill when properly implemented. CoD has easy kills, but BFBC2 knifing required good timing and judgement and Crysis 2 requires 2 hits. The melee is balanced against teh guns to the point that if you're getting meleed it's usually down to your failure as a shooter rather than the ease of melee.

Sorry but I have to say that Melee shouldn't be removed either. And for speedhacking? Pfft, when you're that close to an enemy, just running past them is fast enough to outpace turning speed. Speedhacking is when you can cross one side of Wall Street's overhead bridge in less than a second flat. And on top of that, people erroneously yell speedhack because they see killcams of those who increased their Field of View, giving the illusion of speed when in actual fact it's just the way the world looks.

It's silly to remove melee in a shooter like Crysis, or any shooter really because War is about killing your enemies in any way shape or form that works. If you can land one blow on your opponent that saves you a split second, that's what you should be doing, instead of giving your opponent that split second to kill YOU.

You certainly can't one-hit kill healthy enemy players with melee, and having armour mode on in advance actually requires one more punch to score a kill.

I agree with your post and wanted to point out that melee is also useful if you get the drop on someone and want to save bullets and also if you don't want to show up on radar/make noise.

It's called interpolation. The lag on this game is not evident client side, or in your own PoV, it's evident server side, everyone else sees it. So for melee in particular, whoever gets the first two hit markers on their screen, gets the kill. Someone can hit me once in the back, I can jump 30 feet in the air, and die mid air because on their screen, I was still on the ground. Gay, right?
