Thoughts on Difficulty

OP, you did do a good job trying to get your point across but what your missing is the following.

You are talking about in f.ex Sonic that players could give themselfs a challenge by doing EXTRA things wich is great.
But in Skyrim ,it's about doing LESS things so that players can give themselfs a challenge, infact u can go trough the whole game just using 3 combat skills and never touching anything else inc potions with resto, heavy armor & one handed or sneak & illusion, or conjuration alone or destruction & conjuration/follower... pretty much any combination of skills will allow the player to just breeze trough on master.

I can understand that it would be the case for 'adept' difficulty, but when it's on the highest difficulty available players should be REQUIRED to use evrything at their disposal.
And developers cant expect people to give themselfs handicaps that is harmfull to the game itself aka advancing your character.

Afterall, if a boxer wants a challenge u dont tell him to just 'play with one hand', you give him a strong opponent so he can measure his skill.

yes this an the ops above posts i agree with but as you say at the end of the day the enemies just are not strong enough to begin with...should i really e able to kill murmulnir at lvl4 or giant at level 10? (i find that rediculous at adept level considering that a giant can still one shot me) doesnt make sense the enemies need more health and there should be restrictions on how effective a deadric weapon can be at your level you shouldnt be able to improve them they get better(weapons and armor) as you level up like in oblivion

Personally, I play with the difficulty of "master". Nothing is difficult unless the leaders of the bandits. I play without magic, no scrolls. I raise archery, blacksmithing and stealth first. A bit of alchemy, but not too much, I steal and buy ! I decided to switch to master simply because of the difficulty of origin that is too easy. But the difficulty remains a challenge up at times, do not leave a foregone conclusion, especially against the magicians !

I used to play on Master, until I took a sweetroll to the knee.

Dammit - you owe me a new keyboard and monitor!

Now seriously, the game is as entertaining as you make it. The more I play it the more fun I get. I have trouble imagining some people sitting in front of an altar or spending a lot of days doing the same thing over and over. If that is fun for you then stop whining. If not, then don't do it in the first place. There is so much more than that to explore. Maybe some people don't deserve to be playing this massive world.
