Just a Suggestion for when you cast the soul trap spell, and you capture a soul.

The message on the screen just says something like "Soul Trapped".

It would be nice if it said what type of soul you just trapped. Perhaps "Petty Soul Trapped", or "Greater Soul Trapped".

Or even better "Petty Soul Trapped in a Common Soul Gem". (because if you have no more smaller empty soul gems it will use a larger one.)

Its currently difficult to tell what you just trapped, other than doing a before and after inventory comparison, which is a bit of a chore.
