Using carriage whilst over encumbered?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:18 pm

Soooo, how do one move all your belongings from one house to another in other town, in 1 go, without cheats?

I thought that carriage was introduced for such a reason, amongst others. Packed everything I had (3100/310 weight limit), started walking towards carriage, payed the fine man the travel costs, climbed on board and... Nothing. He didn't initiate travel, no flavor message on screen, stuck sitting. If i press anything, my character automatically goes off the carriage and pretends like nothing happened... Sooooo, is this a bug or failed feature, and how else can one migrate towns? Don't even dare to say I need to start walking across the map...

Again, no cheats please.

After checking http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Carriage#Carriage topis on the wiki, I indeed found out your (flooble) suggestion is correct... Woohooo, lets hope this horse will actually survive long enough and not die, being heroic and fighting an elder dragon like a proud steed it think it is...

But still, I would greatly appreciate a more detailed explanation from the beginning of the game, or even, enabling this feature for carriages, seeing how equipped with satchels they already are...

Personally, I wouldn't do it in one go. I would just store away all my current armor/weapons/inventory and then load up almost to the weight limit with the stuff I want to move, and keep fast traveling back and forth between the houses. And maybe use some of those potions to boost my carry weight.
