[REQ] Retextured tilesets

Post » Thu Oct 15, 2009 7:30 pm

Cause I am wondering why no one has done this before. :)

I am soooo tired of vanilla pre made interiors. *snore* There are a few tile sets out there now for custom interiors but they tend to be marbleized, upper classy, snazzy affairs. Not so good for one's lower or middle class modest home.

So in my never ending push for more resources for MORE and my push for more unique houses for ORE, for all our enjoyment and for my own project Pells' Gate, I am making a massive request. For 4 complete re-textures of the vanilla basemant tile set.

These tiles of the basemant set:

Ungrd2sideddoorway
Ungrd2way
Ungrd3way
Ungrd4way
UngrdCurveSmall
UngrdCurveSmallRoom
Ungrdexitdoorway

Ungrdlcornerroom
Ungrdlexit1room
Ungrdexit2room
Ungrdlroom
Undgrdltrapdoor
UngrdLway
Ungrdpost
Ungrdstairway
UngrdWall01

A retex in each of these four colors, with the same Leyawiin wood flooring and stone corner posts....

This would give four complete interior tile sets in 4 different colors. Allowing people to make custom interiors.

Is there anyone willing to take up this challenge? I know it is a lot to ask, but it really will make a difference.

That's not really difficult, just a little time-consuming.

If no-one else does it first, I may knock something out for you. Of course, if someone else feels the need to do it first, be my guest. :)

That would be wonderful. :)

I really feel this will give so much more variety for doing interiors. For myself I would like to use these and to have a green lounge, yellow kitchen, red bedroom and plain coloured storerooms. That would make a really interesting home with some colour and variety. Or just a green interior home or any other colour. I also want to make a funky cafe for my Pell's Gate gallery with different coloured walls. :foodndrink:

Finally the ability to make custom interiors like in Morrowind. There are a few tile sets out there but not much variety which is why we see so few custom homes.

My attitude to retexture jobs is to so it so thoroughly that no-one feels much need to do it again afterwards, so if I did do it, you'd probably have a lot mroe than four colours to choose from! On the other hand, that's quite a lot of work for something I don't see myself using any time soon, so I'm kinda hoping someone else will do it first.

Good luck! Variety is always good.

That is something I thought about doing after I had released Pell's Gate, my current project that is into it's 2nd year. Sadly my time is limited with the sites I run and rl, but I am planning on learning to retex when I finally have some time. I thought one set of retexes of the basemant set in a wide variety of wall colours, greens/blues/pink/white/yellows etc and one in wood paneling ala Morrowind rich tileset. That would solve all the problems and give house/town builders such a variety to customize their buildings with. We already have a wide resource of windows that can be used and even a resource of windowless exteriors that give more customization. Unfortunately I would not be able to learn and create for a long time yet with all my other commitments. So hopefully someone can step forward to do these four.

Then we would need another MORE Oblivion's Real Estate challenge, that requires people to use the resources on MORE to create unique homes. That would be brilliant.

Meek, you don't need to know how to retexture to do that.

The job that you want to consists of nothing more than opening two Nifskope windows and copy pasting texture paths.

Well, she needs the new textures made as well. It's a simple enough task, as I said: a couple of tweaks in Gimp or Photoshop and Bob's your uncle, but still time-consuming.

And while I'm here: a bump for someone else to do this and not me ('cos I am a lazy, lazy person).

No, if I'm correct, she just wants 4 sets with Leyawiin's textures.
