High-res textures selection greyed out?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:51 pm

I have a 64-bit OS and quad core CPU and a fast hard drive. the only thing I don't meet is the 768MB VRAM requirement (I have 512MB).

But honestly, I run this game at a ridiculously low resolution of 1440x900 with settings Very High, and my VRAM isn't filled up. The textures shouldn't be a problem (for example Rygel's pack in Crysis ran fine for me.).

Is there a way to bypass this stupid restriction?

Have you actually downloaded the texture package?

You need MINIMUM 768mb for textures
You don't meet the MINIMUM requirement

The game doesn't ALWAYS utilise 100% of any resource (RAM, CPU or GPU)...it's dynamic depending on the frame in question..............

I have the same issue even though my system meets all the prerequisites.

I'd like some kind of workaround too, I'm loath to go and buy an upgrade to 64 bit Win7 when I know my machine is perfectly capable of handling the new textures...l

Never mind I've just read the FAQ, there are three packages to download.

You're saying Crytek's texture pack here which only replaces some texture will affect my VRAM more than Rygel's pack in Crysis, which I could run smoothly?

Wrong.

Crysis is not Crysis 2.
