uh....is this wrong?

I went out and actually bought the Prima game guide. I probably won't use it to help me finish quests, I just kind of wanted it. Not to mention it tells me where hidden treasure is.....

I have the Guide. I use it every once in a while as Mapquest has not updated their maps to show Tamriel yet.

It's your money, nothing wrong with it as long as you are happy.
Yours is the only opinion you should care about in this matter.

It's not wrong at all, it's just not fun to know where everything is at any given time (unless you've actually found everything)...

I usually leave it for a couple of playthroughs, but then I get the guide to see what I missed and usually it allows me to plan the game so that I can really roleplay my characters better.

Its no more right or wrong than using fast travel or smithing+enchanting+alchemy to their maximum benefit.

I wonder if my guide tells me where the best spot to get an arrow to the knee is.

Heathen! Blasphemer! How dare you use your money to experience the game in the manner of your choosing?!

Nah its not wrong. I picked up the Collectors edition guide. I like to get them for my fav games. Mass Effect2, Dragon Age, Bioshock, Oblivion, Skyrim. Plus i like to use it for alchemy. No guesswork, just look up what ingredients make what.

I think this sums up my approach to game guides and lots of other stuff. If it's wrong then guilty as charged, m'lud.

I'm looking for a place close that I could buy it from. Eveybody is out of stock. (rather buy it in store)
I only use guides when I truly get stuck. They are worth the money for the amount of info contained within.

Yeah the same happened to me. Target was out of stock, Gamestop (of all places) was out of stock.....I actually went to Best Buy and they had a handful of copies on the shelf. I could have gotten it cheaper online, but I'm impatient. $26 for the size it is, totally worth it.

Who cares what anybody else thinks of how you play the game? It's completely up to you.

It's fine. I highly recommend you do not use it unless you get truly stuck somewhere or have played for awhile. I find exploration pretty fun, and reading every page of the Oblivion guide before I was even half done with the main quest (except quest spoiling-pages, of course) really killed a lot of that for me, since all the neat tricks/things to discover were laid out before me.
