Can I force DX11 on DX10 card? Steam 64bit?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 9:28 pm

Reason I'm asking is I want to see if it will cause a crash, also want to ensure 64bit exec is being used.

I'm on win 7 64 bit, and Crysis 2 is via steam.

Thanks in advance.

No its not possible.

Because Crytek decided to be a bich and so you cant manually activate all the features you want unless your hardware supports it.
For your example ( Tessalation off but everything else on) but instead make all the features DX11 exclusive and lock everyone without Dx11 hardware and 32 Bit OS out.

Wait for some modders to make the "real" texturepacks.... and maybe they will add a DX10 support manually via the upcoming Editors.... unless Crytek doesnt **** this up as well.

For me personally this has made my decision to never buy a CRytek title again!

Thanks, However I'm wondering, I applied the high texture patch and applied the DX11 patch and steam did update itself. However when I check in the task list, it still shows Crysis *32 what give? It should run on as 64bit right?
