Poor DX11 performance w/GTX460

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:09 am

I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed poor perfance with DX11 and a gtx460 graphics card. I was hoping it would work but it looks like ill need and ever better card to run dx 11.

Ever since installing dx11 crysis 2 runs laggy and actually froze my pc at once.

Other Specs: 6GB OCZ DDR3 RAM CPU: Core i7 (***920) OS: WIN 7.

Also when I run crysis 2 with dx 11 I can actually see the window bar ontop of the game. Has anyone else had this occur?

I posted a thread about performance comparisons on my rig.. I have the same video card 1GB version but super overclocked. You have 2 more GB of RAM and possibly a faster CPU although you didn't specify what kind of i7.

That windows bar at the top is new to me.. hope you figure that out.

This is actually understandable. Crytek say with a GTX 480 you are supposed to be getting 35FPS so imagine what a 460 will get! Freezing is also due to low performance (according to Crytek).

If you have any other concerns look at the FAQ at the top of the page...

Also to fix that, you want to hit ALT and Enter to force Fullscreen.

I have A MSI Hawk GTX 460 1GB 850/1700/2000 ...The game is perfectly playable at 1440x900. You want fast frames at 1080p you gotta spend the big bucks for a GTX480/570

You guyz are joking right? I have 2 460's in sli and get kicked in the balls by this game on full blast settings on 1920, i get drops to 25fps, we wanted a game that melted PC's we got it, and we still arnt satisfied, seems most of you are just a couple of insatiable pricks that just love to whine.

I'm not whining, just trying to get my PC to run a little better. I dont know how to overclock my cpu or graphics card. Can somebody tell me what I need to do? to get better performance form my equipment? again im new to overclocking but willing to try it.

I am running GTX460 Sli'd
AMD 1055T overclocked 3.9ghz
1600mhz Ram 4 GB

I set the settings to the ULTRA everything and It runs pretty rough. I get 30FPS constant but as soon as alot of stuff goes on I get major spikes. Gotta save up for that GTX 590 lol. Guess Ill go back down to Extreme.

Seems like somethings wrong with some peoples setups.

I have a Phenom II X6 1055T stock and a GeForce GTX 460 1GB "GC" (slightly overclocked) and I get over 30 frames at 1080p with Ultra settings. Runs a bit higher if I turn post processing down and motion blur down. I turn down motion blur because I hate it. Post processing gets turned down because it does way too much to blur the picture.
