Is there any way to edit your character after creating him? Or is Skyrim like Oblivion and you are forever stuck with the hair, beard etc. you chose at the begining?

If you're on the Xbox or PS3, then yes. If you're on the PC, hit "~" and type "showracemenu".

I suspect you could do it in the console if you're on the PC. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Edit: Man, you've got to have the speed of a mongoose when you post on these boards...

From a post of mine in another thread...

If you are on PC, there is a console command to bring up the customization menu.

Spoiler
showracemenu

Take note, however, that if you change the gender or race of the character, their health, magicka, and stamina stats will even out. This means that if you put 12 levels into health, you will end up with 4 in health, 4 in magicka, and 4 in stamina.
