Does Bethesda monitor these forums for criticisms and compla

Just curious, there seems to be a lot of things users want changed, to what extent do you think those criticisms will be resolved?

A moderator just in anoher thread mentioned that Beth people often read the forums anonymously. However a balanace patch they have not ever issued. They did try to adress the leveling too fast complaint of Fallout 3 in the Broken Steel DLC, but... :shakehead: Let's just say, i hope they don't try that with Skyrim :lmao:

Let's be optimistic and hope they do. Much of it is Valid, coming from a fan base they ought to be proud of.

Don't you think it's strange that none of these people who know how to "fix" Bethesda's product seem to be headhunted by the company or at least taken on in a consultancy capacity?

I'm sure they monitor them... I haven't seen them acknowledge anything yet though. I will grant them the game hasn't really been out that long though.

They will address things like bugs and glitches, but gameplay mechanics that people suggest or complain about aren't likely to get changed. They'll rely on mods for that. People have been too spoilt by MMO forums where if enough people complain, changes are often implemented.

The forums are just a dark corner where angry gamers go to blow off steam.

They do monitor the forums, but I'm not sure if they do so looking for suggestions.

I believe they look for general impressions of things wrong and then look into them. I hope they do pay attention. Many of their customers are very sophisticated users

I think he's working for Obsidian now.

Along that line, though, Beth admitted to basically copying several Oblivion mods for Skyrim. Did Beth consult the authors? No. But they did copy them in an effort to make the game better.

They do, generally to find glitches and bugs. How else would they know what to include in the patches?

Developer presence was a lot bigger back in the Morrowind days. Nowadays the forum moves so freaking fast that it's beyond any human ability to really read it all. That and the signal to noise has gone down quite a lot.

One of the greatest assets any company can have is feedback from its customers. Some companies have to spend fortunes on market research, but for Beth, we're here doing a lot of that for free all day long.

So yeah, of course they keep an eye on them. I wouldn't be surprised if they paid someone to monitor them full time.

I'm sure they also take it all with a grain of salt. This forum may be representative of the hardcoe orthodox angry gamer rpg crowd, but probably not the average player.

I have no idea if they do or not so my vote would just be a guess.

I remember Gstaff showing up in many of the Oblivion threads, but I think he or she got a promotion and maybe no longer has the time to chime in.
