What do you guys use it for? Destruction is probably the first, what do you put as the second?

Fortify Destruction and then either some sort of resistance or 1H fortification.

What do you need +Magicka for?

If you're Enchanting gear for a Mage it's probably to extremely reduce or completely remove Magicka costs.

I think its inferior to previous enchanting systems. Only 2 effects, and the effect list is way shorter than any other ES.

I dont like exploits :)
I prefer to have a balance of mana cost reduction and mana pool extention, that way I can also mix in more spells of difrent skills

I miss Oblivion's enchanting an awful lot, you could come up with some crazy stuff.

REALLY hope that they improve this through DLC. I'm sure modders will, but I'm playing on the 360.

I'm a High Elf master bladesman who is a master of enchanting and uses alteration regularly. It's my own version of a "spell-sword". The extra magica for a High Elf helps A LOT with alteration.

Fortify stamina, archery, heat, magica, magica regeneration, sneak, blocking for my armor sets. I have a set for glass and a set for daedric.

For my Blades: heat/frost - frost/HP drain

For my Bow: Heat/ Soul trap

For my Dagger: Frost/Soul trap

I liked Morrowinds since it was basically the same as Oblivion's, except deeper with more effects and it was a skill. Also how there were actual enchanters so you didnt have to take the skill, just pay some one a ton of money to enchant for you.

I think they should add enchanters and maybe even alchemists to Skyrim.

There's nobody you can pay to enchant or make potions for you.

That would break the skill. I invested a TON of money and time to master Enchanting to the point that I have every single perk. Why invest all that money when I can just pay some dude a fraction of what I paid to master the skill to enchant my weapons for me?

It's not doable. There's already enchanted items in the game you can buy regularly, albeit weaker versions and not custom.

It wouldn't break anything, it would cost a good chunk of money to do so, not "a fraction".

Its definitely doable.

There are no enchanters yes but what exactly is it you expect from your idea of an alchemist in Skyrim? You can buy potions, recipes and ingredients already.

I think he means pay an alchemist a good sum of money to make a super potent poison for you because you can't find it in other people's inventory or it can only be crafted.

As for alchemist, it would be cool if you could take the ingredients you find and pay an alchemist to make potions and or poisons that are better than you would make , since that's not a skill your focusing on. Id mostly want enchanters though, like Morrowind. Alchemists was just an idea of mine.

In Morrowind enchanters costed a FORTUNE. Especially for constant effect enchantments. But then enchanting had a chance to fail to! I don't know, but Skyrim enchanting systems seems way to overpowered.

Once i unlock the final perk for enchanting can i just add the second enchantment to something i have already enchanted or do i have to choose them at the same time on a non enchanted item?

Which is my point, so it wouldn't be broken, or unfair to someone who is an actual enchanter build. You'd have to be "rich" to get a bunch of unique enchanted gear. Its basically for RPing purposes. Someone who wants unique items, or whatever but isn't an enchanter themselves, since that's not who their build is. Just a way of adding a bit more depth and I don't think it would be hard to do. The guy in the college guild even says he does enchanting, but its more of an easter egg I guess since you cant get him to enchant for you.

No, you can't add a new enchantment to already enchanted stuff.

I used it to add resists. Low health, high armor, magic still kicks your ass.

I do destruction and +magicka as well. I play a non-armor wearing pure mage, and use 4 schools of magic. It is very versatile. The only school that has outrageous magicka costs is destruction. Using only cloth and alteration spells, means I don't have to spend any points in smithing, in fact the only perk points I have outside of the magic schools are 8 points in enchanting and 7 in alchemy.

I dont like exploits :)

I don't think 0 cost spells is exploiting, I believe it is working as intended. I'm pretty sure that the developers know that 4*25 = 100. I believe that is why the destruction school doesn't have very high damage output.

How else did you end up selling off all that glass, daedric and ebony junk that would just pile up? Enchant item, sell unsellably expensive loot to enchanter, no loss of money, no hassle.
