Clothing.

I've still never seen a definitive answer. Can we change our wife's clothes? I want to marry Sylgia but her clothes are ridiculous. I don't want her to wear armor I want her to wear some kind of dress. Perhaps if I got a dress and enchanted it with something, might that work?

no it won't work because they only wear something that is technically better at physical protection . tho I did get one to wear a forsworn outfit that I had upgraded so u could go in that direction

if you are on PC, try opening the console and selecting the NPC, then type "removeallitems player" to move all their inventory into yours. Then (if you can't access their inventory normally, e.g. housecarls) try the console command to spawn a particular item to the NPC (not sure what that is - it would be on Skyrim wiki or someone else will know it) and see if they wear it. Not sure if their inventories will reset though.

Anyway, use the item spawn command and give her Nocturnal's Clothes. (Item ID # 00088952)

:woot: You can thank me later.
