Realistic difficulty?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:43 am

Now before someone goes: "Who'd play on novice? Noob!" Or something along those lines, this is for the sake of realism. Now;

Novice: In real life, you could kill someone with a simple dagger slice in the right area, Novice provides the realistic-type health for foes, and makes them a lot easier to kill. I do enjoy the challenge of Master, but again, this is for realism-sake.

Master: The enemies are a lot tougher to kill, but they deal a good amount of damage. I mostly play on Master, unless on an assassin account. I enjoy the challenge and immersion it provides, but how much time it takes to kill a mere lowly-armored bandit is a little too much. The damage output the foes have, however, is great.

Only if they had a Novice health, Master damage difficulty. :violin:

I'm using a PS3 so please don't suggest any mods. Even though I wish I had a competent PC to play on. :swear:

Just play on Adept or the one below and never raise your health.

None.... For it to be realistic you would have to be able to 1-2 hit kill things, and they would have to be able to 1-2 hit kill you. And things like Dragons, giants, mammoths, bear's, saber cats, etc would have to be able to 1 hit kill you... Best bet is Adept through I suppose.

Um...why didn't you just put all the difficulties in the poll??? There's only four (five?).

Don't know, didn't want to, didn't think about it, too lazy, or something. One of those. :sweat:

Taking a greatsword chop to the head from a monster called a Deathlord should kill you in one hit. So I'm going with Master. Which is still too easy. And I'm using an assassin with LIGHT armor. Sigh.

Wish they included a hardcoe mode that (among other things) had novice enemy hp and player damage but master enemy damage and player hp. Lethal combat with actual challenge, realism and reward.

Not really, since you can keep using crappy potions without having to raise alchemy for health pots. Also, not putting points into health means you can have more mana and stamina, thus making things less difficult than you claim they'd be.

No. Level scaling.

Undead hardly train now do they? They sort of just lie in their tombs or wander around.

Somewhere in between, for the reasons OP stated. I'm not saying that this level necessarily exists (I play default - adept? - always) because I haven't played them all, but what the OP describes doesn't sound that great in either direction. Maybe the default is the best balanced? Like I said, I wouldn't know having not played through them all.
