The Crysis 2 DX11 performance is excellent on my machine; the game is now graphically superior to Crysis/Warhead, and the performance is a lot better. All maxed on Warhead and I get an average of 30fps, all maxed on Crysis 2 and I get 50fps+ in all situations. Prior to DX11 I had an average of ~85fps, so it would seem you have a 40% or so performance drop. This is including the high resolution textures of course, and on my rig that's a bit of a bottleneck as I only have 4 gigs of RAM; it's fast and overclocked, but 4 gigs is 4 gigs. Furthermore the ffps is entirely consistent, which is more than I can say for Crysis and Warhead, where your performance went up and down quite a lot.
+1.
One of the advantages of DX11 is that developers can do a lot more things with it, and the performance hit was considerably smaller that DX10. I'm certainly seeing that here. When the full potential of DX11 is implemented in future games, it's going to be very cool.
(They probably should have skipped right over DX10.....unless you were running a monster rig, the FPS hit was ridiculous)
