Elder Scrolls V Info ?

Post » Fri Oct 16, 2009 10:46 am

Any info on this.
I heard a MMO - Really I would hate it, I love the elder scrolls as a single player game not a Multiplayer.
Release date - 2010 is what I read, but no sign any info on this would help.
The land - we have had cyrodiil now where.

Nope!

As would I. Highly doubt it's an MMO though, single player is what Bethesda does best, and they know better than to cash in on such a mundane franchise. It'll most likely remain single player, though some think that a multiplayer "arena" side component may be interesting.

Release date - 2010 is what I read, but no sign any info on this would help.

Announcement in late 2010 or 2011, release in 2011 or 2012 I believe. This would match up fairly well with their past 4-5 year gap between Morrowind and Oblivion, Fallout 3 to TES V.

The land - we have had cyrodiil now where.

We have had Tamriel (albeit in condensed form), bits of Hammerfell, bits of High Rock, Stros M'kai, the Battlespire, Morrowind, Cyrodiil, as a correction. :P

Most people speculate Summerset Isles or Skyrim.

I have some info, most people just don't research. For one, it will most likely take place in Skyrim. It would be silly of Bethesda to register so many trademarks on that name and have it be somewhere else. Another thing I am almost certain of is that it will take place 200 years after Oblivion. The book "The Infernal City" was listed on a number of bookseller websites accompanied with a synopsis stating that the book takes place 40 years after the Oblivion Crisis, partially bridging the gap between Oblivion and the next game, which takes place 200 years after the Oblivion crisis. Shortly after this was discovered, all the listings removed that part of the synopsis. Here is some additional info as well: Todd Howard did indeed state in 2006 that Bethesda would release a new Elder Scrolls game every 4 years. Now I doubt that we will see a new Elder Scrolls game this year, as that was said before Fallout 3 came into play, but it is just something to think about. Anyways, much of this shows that Bethesda has plans currently for the next game, which utterly contradicts something Todd Howard said a few months ago. You know, "We have no current plans for The Elder Scrolls". So obviously he was lying through his teeth, as we can clearly see they have at least some ideas for the next game, which are plans. Now, personally, I believe that the Elder Scrolls V is indeed in development, and it is in fact the "big game" Todd Howard mentioned at that same conference. The one where he said he would not release any details. It does all add up. I mean we know they have plans for a setting, they lied about it, and wouldn't reveal any details about the "big game" they are working on. I mean there are plenty of reasons they wouldn't, but it just seems fitting that it was the Elder Scrolls that Bethesda was so keen on hiding information about. Now I won't be surprised if I'm wrong, but I do think that they are working on it. Even if they aren't, you must admit, they do have some plans for it.
