Is Anyone Still Playing Multiplayer?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:04 am

Played a bit on my friend's PC, considering getting my own copy. Is the multiplayer completely dead, or is there some hope for the community?

o.O yesterday our server had 16/16 player (DLC-maps)... and you find another full server as well!... why do you think the MP is dead?

The MP community even seems to have grown in the last couple of weeks, never have problems finding a game, hackers are non-existant in my experience, it's only the l-tag spammers and of course the snipers that piss me off.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question.... how many active servers are there consistently?

More in europe i believe, but in the States you still get a good selection(24/7), some have only one game type some have others, also some good American fellows can be found playing right now.

Search for the Sith Server, I will be playing in about 45 minutes. It's a well populated and brand new European/American server.

Well, initially the multiplayer base was weak and small due to problems the game had at launch. Then the amount of players on Crysis 2 multiplayer slowly started to rise...and then fall...then it came to this point where I personally thought it was basically going to die off....but now it's starting to rise again and since there are barely any problems in the multiplayer...I think it'll keep rising.

Get the game, at least for the campaign in it's beautiful graphics

The PC multiplayer population isnt really ideal. At peak times there are around 1000-1300 players online. Off peak it can go as low as 600. Sadly due to the lack of players a lot of modes are nearly unplayable outside of peak time or require a lengthy wait to find/get into.

Crash Site and Team Instant Action are always populated and you can always get a game in those types. Capture the Relay, Assault and Extraction are vastly underplayed. Same goes for some modifiers like Pro and Classic.

Crysis 2 in my opinion is weak when it comes to game modes and the small population only makes it worse.

There are more than enough for the game to be playable its just that you should be prepared to play the same mode all the time on the same few maps (Skyline, Sanctuary, Wall Street, Lighthouse and City Hall).
