Arrow trick/cheat

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:08 am

Im trying to do do the trick where you remove a practiisng archers arrows and replace them with your own good ones. the problem is that i dont even have an option to picpocket hes steel arrows. i mean, i cant see them in hes inventory so whenever i place my arrows inside him he keeps using he's steel ones and not mine!

I dont understand this. What am i doing wrong?

Im on the 360, by the way. I have seen millions of videos where people do it so damn easily.......

thanks in advance..

I'm pretty sure you need to level up your pickpocket skill to get some of the better items people have on their possession.

Since the arrows are equipped you will need the pickpocket perk that allows you to pickpocket equipped items before it will show up in the NPC's inventory.

Wait till the guard is asleep.. find the guard with your arrows.. pickpocket them. (they aren't equipped when he's sleeping)

lol I don't have the perk all I did was place a single arrow in his inventory and he randomly uses it. Not sure what triggers it's use but I do know my solitude guard every now and then just fires my Arrow and other time its back to steel.

That don't work for me I had to wait to for them to sleep. I was a little discouraged untill I figured out I could steal them from them while they sleep.

You can also simply give you follower one of the type of arrow you want to duplicate and take away other arrows and melee weapons. They will now only use a bow. They will fire an infinite number of that arrow when in combat. Lydia is my mobile source of ebony arrows.

Yeah this works but it takes longer and companions piss me off all the time because they are always in my way. Also they are pointless for stealth types

Surprisingly my follower Faendal used to exhibit some strange (but "favorble" glitched behaviors):
  • Follower could have infinite arrows (just give him one and he can keep shooting - like stated above)
  • Follower bow didn't seem to use up the enchantment or poison status

However, after I disable/enabled him to get him to properly level up, his bow seems to go back to normal... so without cheating, I now have to keep buying arrows for him... annoying. And I wanted to make him some super enchanted/poisoned weapon previously... now it is not worth it anymore. Oh well, it was a glitch anyway, but did any one else experience such behavior before (and the subsequent "cure")?

Thanks.

I couldn't pickpocket the guard while he was shooting, and had to do it while they slept. I stole all of the steel arrows from each of the 5 guards sleeping in the Castle Dour barracks, and gave them all 1 daedric arrow. But after a few days, they are back top shooting steel again. I guess only 1 guy keeps the daedric....everyone else has all steel again. The really crummy part is that the 2nd shooter never shoots, just stands there with an arrow drawn but never fires. So I can only collect from one shooter. As long as I stay in Solitude, the one guard will keep shooting my arrows. But if I come back later, they are back to steel again. It' frustrating, but worth it.

that doesn't seem right, i always started off pickpocketing by stealing arrows gold and keys since they always had them on them and they had the highest chance to succeed at taking.
