Game crashes after loading, running out of memory?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:02 am

i patched crysis 2 to 1.9 with dx11 and high-res texture as everyone else.

i experienced black screen so clocked down my gtx 570 to nvidia reference clock, it seems this trick works.

then after the scene of subway "nest", about the third chapter it starts loading, then just crashes, windows says runna out of memory and suggest to save my work before shut down crysis 2... crysis2.exe itself crashes...

but i can see memory peak usage is up to 4.3g at that time, well i have 6g memory in total.

and im running crysis2 on windows 7 x64. I just wanna check if i really need more than 8gb memory to play this game. if the answer is affirmative, ill go and grab 12gb kit to upgrade, anyway 6g mem svcks on photoshop and vmware.

in game setting is ultra, res is 1920x1080

bump up, i have another question

is crysis.exe compiled with /LargeAddressAware flag? I can't find it out until going back home, it gonna be another 10 hours.

wish folk in us,could help check this out, you are not at work ^_^. if you own visual studio, use dumpbin located :C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin <--like this

dumpbin.exe /headers crysis.exe to see this string"Application can handle large(>2GB) address"

if not, that's the reason why i experience the memory problem, by the way,i got the 1.9patch through http://www.geforce.com, nvidia's official website
