Server commands for Ion Cannon

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:40 pm

Not sure who is all up on the server commands, not sure if they even work, but if the CVARs for ion cannon were changed, could you turn it off?

perk_MicrowaveBeam_stage0Time = 2
perk_MicrowaveBeam_stage1Time = 1
perk_MicrowaveBeam_stage2Time = 6

For example, if these were all set to 0, then would the ion cannon time be 0 and hence avoid lag? Not sure if the commands will even work though.

maybe these refer to variables for the X43-Mike which fires a microwave beam itself

Mike doesn't have a deploy height of 300, a radius of 25 and damage of 200 ;).

I think it does refer to the ion cannon, microwave beam is probably just what they were originally going to call it. US military is currently research satelite microwave beam weapons too. Though for energy transmission and personnel disruption (they have working on the ground protypes.) Apparently it feels like your skin is on fire if you are in the beams line of fire.

Wait they have tuned it to be non lethal... does that mean they could easily make a lethal version o.O

Maybe that's why there are so many working, while not connected to the grid, microwave ovens in Crysis 2.
