I personally think all the benefits of being a werewolf outweigh the well rest bonus as you can use it in tight spots but i didn't go with it just because the fear ability you get affects companions and my companion started attacking me when i used it so... :/

I find it much more useful to be able to use my skills without the power of being an werewolf...

So i just cured myself, the rest bonus is aways useful.

You have to finish all the companions quest and you can do something to cure it

whats the cure

Spoiler
You need to get a Glenmoril Witch's head and then throw it on a fire pit in a dungeon far to the north. The companions quest line will reveal both very shortly.

Lycantrophy is a great way to explore the map quickly because of how fast it lets you sprint. You can use it to sprint from town to town or to discover new ruins and junk. Its also halfway decent in combat but remember to do the actual transformation far away from your enemies or theyll just wail on you during the animation,

No, you can't get the rest bonus when you have Lycothropy or whatever it's called. http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Werewolves are listed in that link. I became a werewolf and still have the option of turning back to normal but I haven't yet. Why? Because of the 100% resistance to disease, that's it. My character is more powerful at lvl 43 in his normal form than being a werewolf. Werewolves die too easy, you can't heal yourself by normal means, you have to eat someone which only gives 50hp back and when you are fighting 3 people at once who are hitting you at the same time 50hp doesn't really help too much. You can fear them away you might say....yes you can't, and they run to a bunch of other people and agro them as well. I turned on god mode and ran around as a werewolf and it was fun but thats about it for me. I don't really care if other wolves don't attack when I'm not in wolf form, I'll just kill them. So long story short, its nice as a werewolf for just the disease. Not worried about the rest bonus. I'll lvl up my skills some time or other, doesn't have to be faster.

I was loving it, but I got it early on, and now at level 27 my werewolf barely hurts the silverhand members I fight. It's just silly, I have to hit them for a good 30 seconds non stop to kill them, wack, wack, wack, wack, wack, wack, wack ,wack,.... and so on,... I think I will do the quest to free my soul to the Nord afterlife.

Well to that I say you should of continued being a werewolf untill you completed the Totems of Hircine quests, so that you could go and change your fear ability to something else (a summon or detect life). And companions from what I've seen, attack you if you transform in front of them. However, you could always avoid this by getting one of the Companions as a follower, as they do not attack you when you transform.

@ OP, lycanthropy (being a werewolf) abilities far outweighs the well rested bonus. And I've always seen the well rested bonus as rather trivial anyway, since I hardly ever make my pc sleep.
