Best found light armor in-game?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:36 pm

It's all pretty much random and luck based, also the lockpicking perk that gives you a +50% chance to find a special item helps, I've found dragon scale chestpiece in a cave at lvl 18

This isnt me brother. I'm Nyde, not NYDES. LOL!! You got tricked by the man.

Makes sense, not everyone kills dragons.

How do you get through this game without killing dragons?

The Dark Brotherhood armor is the way to go if you're a stealth character... though it's not technically "found". The 15x stealth attack bonus is godlike when stacked with the Assassin's Blade perk.

The best light armor is Daedric with the Conditioning perk.

Sadly, perk-wise, Light Armor provides better protection than Heavy Armor.

And yeah, Shrouded(DB) armor has best armor rating, even better than Dragonscale.

You can find everything. Just not reasonably. There's rare instances of people finding dragon____ armor. And I do mean rare.

I found Dragonscale Gauntlets twice. But my mainchar is Level 59 and I found none before I hit 50.

//edit

Problem with that is many people just head straight for smithing and bam they have the best equipment in the game asap with little effort required... If people want good equipment, almost every character build is almost forced into going smithing, or goodbye best gear. svcks =(

Enchanting is far more needed than Smithing since you can buy Glass and Ebony Armor at vendors.

I found dragonplate boots at 34. No Deadric yet.
In fact come to think of it I still haven't seen an Orcish shield, on vendor or on a mob / in a chest.
Have only found a glass helmet from the glass set.

Glass is the best light you're probably going to find in loot. At level 37 I've found some glass and a ton of ebony (which is heavy of course). Haven't seen a whiff of dragon armor. I still roll with a combination of Ancient Shrouded Armor and Nightingale Armor though as I like the enchantments. Also found a Daedric greatsword last night. That's the first piece of daedric loot I've seen. Of course I'm a dual wield dagger guy so the sword does me no good.

Between lv40 and 48 (my current level), I've found a Daedric shield, and I've found light dragonscale shield, helmet, and armor. All non-enchanted. A good bit more ebony and glass. edit: Oh, and a Daedric sword.

Are you suggesting that someone should actually invest enough perks into light armor to get the 10% avoidance? That's ... inefficient. First off it's only a 10% chance so it's not really reliable. You already have 80% mitigation either way. Avoiding 10% of what would have only been 20% of the original damage? You also have to take a bunch of useless perks to get there. Heavy armor needs only 4 perks to be armor capped and not hinder you(and punch people really hard!!!!1).

lvl 58 maybe 15-20 pieces of dragon armor found so far. Vast majority of it in chests right beside dragon words.

Smithing is easier though as even doing it casually I could create my own dragon armor by late 30's early 40's. Yet dragon armor didn't start appearing in chests till lvl 50+
