Immersive moments

With all the bugs this game has it's been difficult to sit back and truly appreciate the immersive environment Bethesda has made for us. And rightfully so, we expect a flawless product that works so we can do just that!

Still, it's hard for me not to stop and appreciate and gawk at all of the stuff that gives you those little moments where you really feel like you're there. So while Bethesda needs to flesh out a lot of bugs, I still want to take the time to say you guys have created one badassed world! I'm going through some of the main story, on a part I won't spoil but you end up having to approach both Tullius and Ulfric at their respective locations and you can hear them speaking with their people over the war plans. Both of their banter got me all into it, and definitely stick around for Ulfric as he gives a nice little tirade that seemed reminescent of how the Scots felt about the English back in our own history. But I love all the banter you hear throughout the game. Even just the spouses bickering amongst themselves at the shops. Makes you feel like you're really there.

What immersive moments have you all felt? Try not to spoil some of the quests for the folks that haven't explored them yet, but various distracting bugs aside what has managed to pull you into the world of Skyrim?

I'm playing a big nasty dual-wielding Orc. Shortly after I finished the intro quest on the way to Whiterun I ran into three imperials escorting a prisoner. I figured since they had tried to execute me less than a day ago for being in the wrong place at the wrong time I decided that there was as good a chance as any that the prisoner was innocent so I freed him and slaughtered the guards with abandon.

Later in the story after I had learned that I was Dragonborn and that the world was depending on me for salvation I witnessed a public execution taking place. I knew that stopping it would compromise my mission so I stood back and let it happen reasoning that it was for the greater good though I mumbled an apology to the prisoner after the axe fell.

There's a small town nearby Margarth, name starts with a K (forgot the exact name). I was on my way to a Forsworn stronghold to the north in order to rescue some priest, when I came through this town. There was some babbling going on about the Silverblood family and the locals who seemed to not like eachother very much. In either case, I had a mission and I could not get involved in this right here, right now. So I moved along the road, leaving the small village behind me to find a bridge. A big bridge. When crossing the bridge I looked left to enjoy the view a bit, and my goodness... a view it was! I stood there for at least two minutes before moving on. It is these moments that - for me - capture what Skyrim really is. A world.
