I've run into a problem, and I was hopeful the patch would fix this issue for me, but it is still present.
I bought Crysis 2 from steam before the game even shipped. I played successfully on my previous computer with no problems. I have just rebuilt my computer (component list later) with the latest Asus P8Z68-V and an i7 2600k. The video card is a Radeon HD6870. The Windows 7 x64 install is fresh and fully patched with the latest available drivers.
I have not been able to play for more than 2-3 minutes since the rebuild. I have deleted my cache directory and saves, started over again, and got real hopeful when I made it all the way to the first level, where you break through the door and see the two cell agents killing the marines on the ground, and you get the tutorial on the visor. The game went black here. No ctrl+alt+del, no alt+tab, no esc, nothing would cause the computer to react. The monitors shut down and the BGM would continue to play. I would have to power off the computer and restart to get the computer responsive again. I restarted the game and managed to play through to the next save point, where the system blew up again and the screens turned off. I can reproduce this error every time I try to play.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in Advance!
