1.2 Update out for PS3, Wedncesday for PC and 360

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:09 pm

This is clearly just an emergency patch to fix the biggest problems. Give them time to fix the rest of the game.

This.

They are surely still working on more issues for the next patch. This one is just some major game breaking issues.

Damn, I enjoy having dragon corpses around.

No doubt!

I killed a dragon in Windhelm the other day right in front of the Palace of Kings and I wouldn't mind it staying there. People still walk around it and comment on it and the two dead guards right next to it.

Very cool feature that didn't need removal imo.

ITT, everyone is an expert programmer.

Seriously, the amount of clueless crybabies is staggering. This was an emergency patch. It mostly fixes things which affect a great number of players, and either prevents them from playing the game altogether or is a problem that manifests often. Quest bugs don't affect the whole game like the mouse sensitivity and keymapping bugs, and the PS3 lag; they only affect that particular quest. The reason the patch is out so soon is exactly because they focused exclusively on the most pressing issues.

And if you think in 2011 software should be less bug-prone, you're an idiot. Software complexity is escalating at an alarming rate; games these days have multiple millions of lines of code, orders of magnitude larger than games in the 80s. Programming languages and paradigms as well as debugging tools are developed to combat this complexity, but it's an uphill struggle. It's a miracle that Skyrim is as stable and bug-free as it is. If you all weren't such spoiled little brats you'd be a bit more respectful of what they have achieved and wait for a major patch which is undoubtedly in the works.

I just got a 92MB patch update prompt on the PS3 in North America, but it listed the version number as 1.02, not 1.2

I got an update to version 2.01, in Europe..?

Well atleast some small fixes here. I can't wait for the CK to come out though so modders can begin the real work of enhancing the game. Especially looking forward to Immersion mods.

Thank God. That rare animation bug for sleeping NPCs would have totally ruined my immersion if I'd ever seen it.

So please, keep your rabid fanboyism off my reality. Thanks.

I think you need to spend some more time in the real world than getting your panties in a twist over a patch. If you expect a dev team to fix every single notable glitch and bug in a game this large within a couple weeks of release you are delusional. End of story.

This list doesn't mention any fixes for the 8 thousand glitched quests? They can't be serious?

This patch was originally sent out a few weeks ago. Not enough time to fix quests yet.
