I had my first WTF moment for this game

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 5:22 pm

So i was exploring along the road down the mountain from Helgen to Falkreath and i was on the road that is above the city and i saw what looked like one of those Nord Spirits that inhabit some of the tombs and crypts. Well anyway it was moving towards me and as it got closer it said the "Headless Horseman" Its the ghost of the Headless Horseman. Now my questions is the Headless Horseman's ghost an Easter Egg, glitch or part of a quest for the city of Falkreath.

Ya, it is an easter egg. Haven't ran into him yet, though.

My biggest 'WTF' moment is the whole DB questline

He can be found various places in the game at night, afaik there are no quest's involved with him. You cannot attack or talk to him (if you can catch up close enough to get the "talk to" option, he is a fast bugger)

Heh, I've seen him riding to a cemetary out in Whiterun. I followed him there, but he just disappears. I forgot about that until now. Not sure what it's all about myself.

Saw him the other night heading back to Whiterun. Big WTF moment, although I had heard about him before.

Can't kill him, he'll usually run away from you, and if you do catch up, he has no dialogue (obviously). But still a fun easter egg.

I caught him just as my werewolf transformation ran out once. Nothing happened when I used the talk to option, he just kept on riding. :sadvaultboy:

Good WTF or bad WTF?

Good, especially when
Spoiler
the Night Mother told me to speak to Astrid since she was still alive, and once I approached her, I see her 80% burned body laying on the floor, her half dead and candles around her. it was a weird feeling. Talking to the Night Mother for the first time was creepy. And Cicero...[censored], that Cicero, man... :shakehead:

It's a random encounter, according to my copy of the strategy guide.

Beth included lots of little encounters that are either just random happenings or else triggered by other quests and how you finish them, things like that.

Some of the encounters are just things that leave you saying "What" and others are related to game events and can even give you another quest.

I know exactly how you feel about the comments under the spoiler. Except the fact that betrayal seems to be a running theme for two of the factions and several quests, makes me rage! I am a good loyal but people still try to back stab me, psh.

Saw him once, in the distance, on a bridge outside Whiterun. By the time I got close enough to investigate, he was gone. So there's no quest tied to this?

The Headless horseman actually leads you to some locations depending on wich road you encounter him. You can actually find out more about him.

He is, btw, a reference to Sleepy Hollow.

I passed by him once, early in the game, so it was quite a surprise. As for M'aiq; I have run into him half a dozen times now.
