Why so much fighting?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:26 pm

Okay so i just started reading this forum today. I've been playing since morrowind. I'm a huge fan of of Bethesda. So the one thing i've noticed on pretty much every single thread i've read so far is that they all turn in to pointless arguments. Why is this? I understand that bugs bother everyone but wow i've never seen such pointless arguing. I am already 99 percent sure that this will most likely turn in to to an argument..and believe me i hope it doesn't and this is in no way inteneded to be flame bait. I just wonder..What can we do to get people to be a bit more constructive here instead of bashing each other? Skyrim is easily the best game i've played in years...Maybe the PC is much worse but very rarely do i ever run in to bugs on the 360...and certainly nothing big enough to stop playing over and yell at others for. Just a thought.

Bethesda released a game in 2011 with outdated content that other games had for years. Take horses for an example. They didnt even inlcuded horse-combat. There is no excuse for not inlude that. Many games had done this for years but at that point Bethesda is behind.

Aslo the game can feel dumbed down.

Morrwind for an example had a more freedom with enchanting. You could even create a sword wich would summon a daedra when equippeted! And have multiple enchant effect on a sinlge item if you wanted to. In Skyrim there is no choices of how many effect you want to have, you only choose one and thats it. Thats another option wich was scaped from the game, and thats what an rpg is about, having many options in all the content.

This is why i and most is dissapointed. Instead of fixing Morrowind (and Oblivions) errors, they just removed it for no reason.

So people debate because they want the "good old" Bethesda back, but the way people bash eachother is just ignorant and pointless.

Why all the fighting? Because it's the internet and they can type. Anonymity and all that.

Remove Anonymity from the internet and people will still act the same.

Yep. Not to mention exaggerate the extent of the problem.

This happens with every game. Every game. Pay no attention to it, unless you're just here for the drama.

"Look, there's a molehill. Let's make it into the Throat of the World!"

But yeah, speculation, hyperbole, melodrama, rancour... just another day on the forums! It's annoying as hell, but I can't stop coming back

There's no exaggeration about the slew of documented bugs present in the title. Taken as a whole they produce a definite mixed bag, as the Atomic rant stated. Burying your head in the sand won't change reality. If you find the game playable in it's condition, that's great. Others don't. They are validating this claim with documentation (in most cases) and most issues reported can be reproduced. You being able to deal with the game "as is" does not refute the proven issues with the game.

There's more to these problems than "whining".

Soon as you say one negative thing about the game people jump down your throat. Soon as you bring your opinion about the consolization of the game, you get swarmed by the console players. People anymore cant seem to understand opinions & take them as direct insults & criticism towards THEMSELVES. Thats why you have arguements.

Things won't settle down when the CK is released. The console players will then start complaining about why "insert mod here that changes the game for the better" wasn't in the game in the first place, etc etc.

I mean don't get me wrong i understand trolls on the net...but it just was like every single thread i read resulted in people calling names and bashing bethesda or this or that...i mean yes it has its flaws but no one can dispute its the most ambitious rpg ever made, and a ton of fun to play...so why act like bethesda has commited some sort of crime by making this fantastic game for everyone to enjoy?
