Has anyone restarted yet

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 5:29 pm

tldr down below

Well right now, as soon as I turn on my character I'm gonna delete my saves and start a new character. The reason for this is because when I started to play, I wanted to get a foothold on many skills of the game. I feel like now that I have spread myself too thin.

Currently I have 35 hours in and I'm level 25, I think.

Also another reason why I'm restarting is because I started to use fast travel a lo. At first, fast travel was used sparingly, but then after a good 15 hours of playing, my fast travel usage went sky high. Simply put fast travel ruined some of the immersion.

Tldr:

Simply put I'm restarting because I ruined the immersion of Skyrim. Has anyone else restarted for the same or a different reason.

I've restarted once because I wanted to play without Dragons. After dropping my 30th it got quite tedious, especially knowing that if I ignored them they would just follow me and kill all the NPCs I go near.

@Rukkus. The start of a new character is certainly the best part of the game. It's a shame it doesn't get maintained for very long as gold comes in by the bucket load and the majority of gear is just vendor trash.

I ve restarted many times.

Because i lost character focus, and for me a character without focus is a zombie and zombie perk [censored]s are unsatisfying. Unfortunatly TES is directing itself to less customization and power wore game style...
Because i died and when i die many time i tire of the character , i tend to zead id dead, baby, zead id dead....
Because i ended in a WTF situation ad i got pissed at the game.
And finally because i build a build that could not sustain itself.

I restarted at about 55 hours. This was mainly due to leveling off of bows and sneak (1 hit dagger kills). But if I was ever caught off guard I couldn't hold my ground. At that point leveling 1h and shield was a pain. Since I don't really buy skill ups at trainers I started a new thief character and worked up 1h / shield first and am now working up bows and sinking points into sneak later.

This is my 3rd time restarting Gilliam, I had no choice, the lag was getting unbearable and the loading times taking 3+ minutes D:.

A few years ago I probably wouldve already restarted my character many times already. I do the same on new MMO's when I feel my character could be better or whatever. I think its a sickness in a way. Im pretty sure theres a psychological term for it, the ability to plan things very well but not be able to see them through due to loss of interest, frustration or whatever. But as I get older Ive learned to just ride through the rough parts and persevere, so Ive made one character and stuck to it for about 150 hours now. Im sure Ill make another one eventually but not until Im completely finished with whatever I want on this one and it just sits waiting for an expansion. Ive also managed to stick to one character on EQ2 which is almost impossible for someone like me on that game, theres just too much content and too many ways to get distracted.

i haven't restarted. I've added more characters to my alternating group and am now playing six characters alternately. I always play several at once to experience different perspectives and questlines.

You only restarted once? Pfffft

I'm on my 4th restart, with the 3 previous characters all leveled between 25 - 35.

I'm now finally satisfied with my 4th character thank Talos.

I had to restart because I found out when my brother was playing he switched the difficulty to apprentice, and I did the last couple quests for both main quests when I, unknowingly, Had it on. I felt like a cheater afterwards so I created a different character.

I always use the first character as a learning experience. I too broke the immersion by fast traveling too much. I had over 100 hrs on my character though. Didn't bother me at all to restart, now I can pick and choose what I want to do instead of trying to find EVERYTHING.

Yes, I did tonight because I didn't want to download the 1.2 patch for my PC version so I started a game on my PS3 + 1.2 patch because I had never played it. It took me a while to get used to the controller again but I can report that I had not one single problem. No crashes, no glitches, no animation lags, nothing. I reached Level 3 and it's been a blast. What was great was that I caught the beginning of the game that I had missed the first time out because I went exploring instead of to Riverwood. It was also daylight this time and the first time it was night and I missed things. I got much more out of the story too. My character is a cousin to Evaliir Srinna...she's Adon Srinna. :D

bah, think i must have restarted 50 times by now. character i'm on now might actually make it, he's the highest level one i've had so far at 11. I have major nitpicking issues with character design, it's been the same with every game where i can modify character appearance and stats, lol.

Playing DID is kindof fun... I mean if you want to you can run through the main quest and most others in pretty quick time if all you want to do is just finish the game and see the story. Playing DID increases immersion and gameplay a lot for me, even if it does svck very badly if I die far into the game. I still reload if I die due to some wierd glitch, freezing, crashes, bugs and what not that are out of my control.

Usually I play one game 1/4 way or so through just to get used to the combat and the gameplay mechanics then I make a DID character.

I've made 4 charactors so far. The first was an Argonian mage who got two arrows lodged in his face, the arrows are what made me make a new one - - an imperial warrior who looked pretty bad because I didn't spend much time on him. The bad looks forced me to make yet another charactor - - an Argonian thief / assassin who just plain got boring due to the lack of fellow lizards wich lead me to make another account which is an Imperial soldier.

So, yeah, I'm very indecisive....

I restarted because I got all balled up in a quest I didn't understand. I found myself wonder why I was doing what I was doing... that's time to quit.

my first restart was due to selling stuff making me level up too fast and weakening my character. after that restarted few times to try out some different combinations.
