Favorite part of Skyrim?

To be honest at first I didn't like the tough terrain look of Skyrim, I really missed the cartoonish look of Oblivion. Now that has changed, when I originally made my opinion I had only explores the south east corner of the map, riverwood area was very nice but at the time I didn't like the grayed out scenery. It's all I want now. What is your favorite part of Skyrim. It can be a general area or a specific location.

For me first off I'd have to say anywhere there are northern lights or whatever they are called in Skyrim. After that I would have to say my favorite spot is north or winterhold. Behind the college there is some beautiful scenery. I play on the ps3 and I was blown away by the graphics up there. Not sure of this is possible but can one area be more detailed and look better than another technically speaking? I say this because that area is gorgeous and then another area by solitude looks like total crap, no textures, from a distance it looks horrid. In the area behind winterhold it's so smooth and detailed. Also I like that area because of the shipwrecks below. It's so fun going way down into the water and finding a boat that has chests and other cool things on it. It got me thinking it would be awesome if Bethesda made a TES based on a location like the sea of ghosts. Something like waterworld. Now that would be a challenge to make enough content to make that happen. Maybe a floating city or something. I just think it would be cool. I'm already wondering where the next elder location will be, I know I'm not the only one.

Anyways back to the main topic. Just post your favorite area. If possible please post a pic. I can't with my phone, actually maybe I can but I don't know how, plus it would be crappy image. Thanks guys. I can't wait to here of some places so I can go visit. I got a very detailed map and online map with the guide that is really really good, I can find anything you post. Which brings me to my next discussion. Here it is quick and easy. I love the map. If you know how to use it the map is actually very functional. I don't want to here the crap about how there are no roads. It's an rpg and roads on the map would take away my favorite part of the game which is exploring and finding my way.

the northern marshes (below solitude) are really creepy.. lots of fog, reminds me of the deathmarsh in LOTR.

I love traveling up and down the northern coast, tons of snow, ice, polar bears, etc.

Solitude is by far my favorite area in Skyrim. It's so reminiscent of Minis Tirith from LOTR, and I loved that place! Riften is also a pretty cool place because it has this sinister feel to it and it's home to my favorite guild.

I really love the coastal regions, and the sort of mini-archipelago, and also the autumn forest area to the far southeast, which is just beautiful. I also like the area towards the centre with the the bubbling geyser type things.
