Link to reality

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:39 am

Hi guys.
I'm pretty new to TES series, it's lore and these forums and I was hoping I could clear something up.
So I read that the planet you are on in Skyrim is called Nirn.
Is there any relation to the real world?
Is Nirn meant to be a planet far far away?
Is it in an alternate dimension?
Is it Earth in the early stages of Mankind?

No, it's in its own Universe, Planet, Continent and Country.

In this case... Mundus, Nirn, Tamriel and Skyrim.

Oh okay, I see.

Why is it then that they have objects and creatures that belong on Earth? Like Goats, cows, bears, wolfs, the humans themselves etc...

Just another tale of one sibling being unnecessarily mean to it's younger sibling. I mean look at that.

So there's absolutely no possibility that a deer could evolve in a planet with lakes, trees, water....I could go on and on. Dude it's just aesthetics.

And have you played Morrowind? No deer, bears or cows in that game.

For the same reason it has humans. It's a work of fiction. If it was completely devoid of anything real whatsoever, you'd have no idea what anything is.
