How long would you persist with this game?

Well, I have come back from holiday and 1.9 patch has been automatically applied. Needless to say the farme rate has dramatically dropped. I have a quad core and a 5870 card so the game was running smoothly before the patch. I come to the forum to see that there are plenty to issues with this new patch.

Since it's inception it's always had issues with it's MP from it's numerous hackers to now the jerky framerate. I just can't be bothered with this game now.

This was my first PC FPS Mutiplayer and I did enjoy parts of it. However, this is not a finished game nor is Crytek a professional company. You expect issues with PC games but this is going on for too long. No wonder people don't buy games for the PC anymore. So good luck to all you fellow gamers, hopefully you'll eventually get the game that you deserve.

Goodbye.

I think its more EA's fault for pushing so hard to ship this game when it did. I honestly think that it could have stayed in development until at least august - problem is BF3 and MW3 are coming soon after. EA pushed it early to make their money while they could since this is an unknown IP in the console space (which is the primary development focus regardless of what Cevat says..). Also the marketing blitz from EA and Activison will be insane closer to launch date on BF3 and MW3. EA has some cash flow issues and can not commit to 2 full force blitzes for 2 FPS's at almost the same time. I blame EA for this. If the repeat this with BF3 then I am just done with EA period. I understand that games can't be in development forever (DNF anyone...) but to push something so high profile out well before its finished is equally as bad. Crytek admitted to as much with the DX11 patch release. Thanks EA!!

Yeah but we're getting all the low spec whiners now and people who should know better. There is no game that uses tech like this so hard at the moment. Also note that this is even with no MSAA applied rather than the post AA.

Are you running the game maxed?

If so, you need to disable tessellation. It didn't run before, but it does now and it'll turn the game into a slide show on a 5870. You need to take the objects down to extreme and not ultra, that will disable tessellation.

Yes but you lose POM as well.

I see. Well there is another way I think: you can run ultra settings, but you can also open catalyst and disable tessellation that way.

hmmm...not a finished game? I either smell a troll, an idiot, or someone who's living under a rock.

The DX11 and High-res textures Ultra pack has been released. Crysis 2 is now the prettiest game on the market (IMO) and the multiplayer has little to no issues. The game is fun as crap and it's what we expected to be since launch. It's just stupid the map pack DLCs cost money but they only cost money because of EA not Crytek.

After the 1.9 patch , the high res textures and the DX 11 , the gaem looks so much better and it runs just as smooth as before i patched it.
Running an i5 750 with a readon 5770 with 8 gigs of ram res is only 1440 x 900 but all settings are maxed out.
