Sniper rifles, and a corresponding high perception to see the rapidly moving red spots on you compass, are surprisingly capable in VATS. If you don't like VATS or Sniping, 12 guage shotguns are very good for doing good damage in a single blow. Outside of them, any rifle/SMG that is burst capable shreds Cazadors with near impunity if you use controlled bursts.

For hardcoe mode, I reccomend Shotguns. They common, cheap to repair, and can handle any situation thanks to the slew of various ammo types that are available.

Grenade rifle + VATS. You can start firing when you reach 3% accuracy and you'll get them every time- and even if they aren't dead from the first shot, their wings are guaranteed to be crippled. Missiles do awesome job on large Cazador swarms from long distance. There's a place by Brewer's Beer Bootlegging where you can bring down half a dozen wasps with one missile

Automatic weapons work very well if you're a free shot fan. 10mm SMG, Assault Carbine, LMG are all excellent choices, especially with hollow point ammo. Laser RCW is fine too. Gattling Lasers and Miniguns are great, although wasteful.

I recommend the Silenced .22 Pistol with HP bullets & critical headshots, or the Mantis Gauntlet + Blood Shield + Desert Salad. The latter is what I prefer.

If you're an EW type of guy, the RCW will be your best friend. It will rip them to shreds over vast distances, and adverse to Shotguns or automatic lead spitters it is highly accurate.
The RCW in general is a fantastic weapon against all types of low/no DT enemies, not only Cazadors, but also Nightstalkers, Geckos and the like.
