Show us your Lydia, and how did you keep her alive?

Her stats, or how I keep her alive, or rather how she survives my bad aiming:
493 health
100% Resist Fire
100% Resist Shock
100% Resist Frost
683 armor even with a circlet on, which is capped 80% physical damage resist. Im not hiding her face either way so that is pretty fortunate for her! :disguise:
Blocks 47% more damage with shield
Health regenerates 36% faster
Waterbreathing in case she gets lost underwater

Also I use her as my potion vault, though she hardly ever needs one cause she regens pretty fast anyways, and I stagger most everything thats being mean to her.
Not having to worry about magic is a big plus. Against bosses and me is when she usually died, and now that we can't harm her, she just has to worry about physical and poison attacks.
Though against the stuff that fires poison like giant spiders and other huge insects I usually freak out IRL and use the master tier mass paralysis on everything followed by atom bombs.
She seems to laugh off melee attacks and arrows. So shes pretty beefy now.

Show us your Lydia!

I don't.

Each character I make, I always take Lydia to the deepest, most dangerous dungeon I know and then run off when she's not looking and leave her there.

She's never made it back once.

She's my house guard for now. I've only recently found out how to make it so her level and associated stats scale properly.
But I'll probably continue to use mjoll.

She is still my follower at level 30. She does pretty well once i got her some better gear, and figured out how to use her by setting up fights. I have used her as a tank, as a distraction, and a pack mule and she never complains. She has taken mis aimed firebolts from me still content to forgive and move on as if nothing happened. I learned by playing RPGs as long as i have to save often it is almost a religion now, like meditation "save doosh bag save" being the krishna chant, and with out a moments hesitation reload upon her death several times in a row if necessary until i figure out the fight where she and i will survive. Some have required me to DPS the weaker targets down then switch over to a heal/support role as she tanks the last boss mob, watching her fight my battles with enthusiasm because of this at least with this play she will be with me to the end. As i am at work i can not give her stats suffice it to say that she is better geared than i am seeing as i will run away if the fight starts to turn out bad lolz. I have heard there is some issue with her and the other followers not leveling up with the character and there is supposed to be some sort of console command to fix the problem but so far so long as i take my time and set up the fight we do ok.

I'm sad. I didn't manage to keep her alive, but at least she died a heroic death battling both a dragon and Krosis on a mountain peak (it was EPIC!!!). May I see her in Sovngarde (unless she's a filthy Imperial. Still don't know what race she is)

This should go without saying but giving her a shield does wonders for her survival. If she has a 2hander in her inventory she almost ALWAYS equips that instead so I just keep 2handers out of her inventory and she is beast with an ebony axe and dwarven shield of eminent blocking. She's as good as the enemy using a shield and we all know how good that is. So hard to get a clean shot on those buggers unless you shield bash em.

I have to say that I'm impressed with the AI, as imperfect as it is. She seems to switch between firing arrows and charging in with her battle axe at appropriate times, and actually manages to help in a fight more than she gets in the way.

I admit that I sent Lydia back to Breezehome after joining up with Jordis the Sword-Maiden. I don't particularly care for how she says "I am sworn to carry your burdens" (she seems rather flat compared to the hint of hesitation that you can hear when Lydia delivers that line), but Jordis is awesome in combat.

Nope, not using her anymore, now she's just a housekeeper at Breezehome :P. But she was a good companion, a more friendly one, unlike the one I have now.. Aranea, she's creepy but she's very powerful. :D

My Lydia survives because I don't bother avoiding traps, and I activate them all first.

Plus, I kept her with a sword and shield, instead of breaking her skillset. I gave her powerful armor, and then I let her run free. I think she's been knocked to her knees FIVE times in total, and not died once. I die more often, and generally get hit more and activate most of the traps I encounter.

Honestly, I think the people that are having problems with Lydia are spamming AoE spells, leading her into traps (when she walks in a straight line toward you, she's gonna activate a trap your standing right in front of), and other stupid things. Hell, I'm a two-handed melee combatant that uses Sweep more often than I should, and I hit her once every three dungeons, IF THAT.

Me and Lydia in her room (where she is always except for that one time I took her out on an adventurer, she was meanie to the traveling Khajiit merchants so after a quick "stopcombat" console command I decided she could no longer tag along with me). As you can see the two of us go in matching armor (she totally copied my style, not the other way around), un-enchanted Dragonplate Armor and we both wield a Daedric Mace (ofc along with a Draonplate Shield) :D

Lydia's in my home in Whiterun, standing in her bedroom in perpetuity. I actually do miss her a lot, but I changed because I was so tired of her attitude. I was under the impression companions couldn't die, but I gather they can. Still, somehow, she lives. Their health regenerates almost instantly, I noticed--I was looking at one of them and had his health bar visible. It goes up really quickly. I'm pleased that it does, especially after watching her get set on fire by dragons.

Mine got flung off a cliff by a Dragon Priest's fireball staff explosion. That was funny... it was a really big cliff.
