Failed to extract file from archive.

Hi there,

I am getting an error when trying to run the DX11 high res texture pack. I initially had this error with patch 1.9 and the dx 11 upgrade as well. Repeated downloads of patch 1.9 and the DX11 upgrade ended up working. I haven't seen anyone else with this problem though so I am not certain what is causing it or why.

The error is: Failed to extract file from archive: diff_000001.dif. This comes up after I run the patch, and it begins to try and extract the files.

I have searched a number of things on google, the forums and other sources and no go. The closest thing I have been able to find out is that the download may be corrupt, and to download it again. Unfortunately I live in Australia, the land of the download cap. I can't chew up any more of my quota this month (already downloaded it 12 times with no success) and the texture pack is 1.7 gig.

Any help would be appreciated, I have even tried a reinstall of my OS, downloading it again (using a different version of windows 7 as well) and still no go.

System:
gigabyte x58 ud7
i7 960 (stock)
gtx580
12 gig 1600 ram
win 7 64

cheers

Bumping, tried memory tests, reseating my memory, network diagnostics downloading from different locations disabling my firewall and anti virus and still have the problem.

Really at a loss to find any information on it at all except a couple of german forums where someone has had the same problem.

I'm having the exact same problem. Started up the game a couple of days ago and it automatically downloaded and installed 1.9. I don't have the bandwidth to download all the upgrades at once, but from what I've been reading, leaving it as it is seems to be the way to go

I have re-downloaded the file, and I am getting the same error. I do not have the bandwidth allocation to keep downloading a 500mb+ file in the hope I get one that bloody works

I got that error when I first tried installing the patch, I got rid of it by restarting my pc and turning of any program not needed ie Kaspersky, Steam, Xfire

Tried to start in safe mode, still no deice. I should mention, I've just downloaded and installed the advanced textures pack and that installed no problem whatsoever
