PC Version NOT Supported

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:43 am

I just had an email from tech support, I got in contact with them as the video detection system fails to return any setting at all for my Video Cards, I have 2 MSI Hawk 460s in SLI

The email just says they know the game known to have Problems with SLI, surround and eyefinity, and is not supported

this is how bad Bethesda has become, they have known about this since Fallout was released, yet they have failed to do anything about it, you would have thought they would look for a SOLUTION.

Bethesda made its name in the PC market writing PC games, now they carnt even program the PC properly any more, the Game was clearly developed by people who only know how to program the Games Engine, they are not real programmers but Application users, and Havoc is reaaaalllly dated and was not very well rated when released 7 years ago, but was adequate for console programming.

there is guy on the net who has programed a fix with in days of this being released yet The Developers are unlikely to address this problem I am told

I should not be told to look to the modders community for find a solution to the basic function of my video cards being displayed correctly.

Your title is misleading. Not every game developer is going to be able to offer support for every type of PC configuration out there. Some games do not support certain types of graphics cards. It's just how it is. Some games wont support the use of mice with more than three buttons... or the razer naga with its 14 or so buttons.

Why is this bethesdas problem? you have crappy videocards, and you want a company to make up for it by spending extra time programing...

And you are right you shouldnt be told that modders will fix your cards, because your card company should! talk to your videocard support line...

Crossfire and SLI have been known to be buggy since they first hit the market. There are some major technical issues involved in running dual graphics cards, but for some reason most consumers brush them off as trivial, and simply assume everything works.

If you were unaware of the dangers, then you didn't do your homework before purchasing the system.

Most likely not, but he had an occasion to complain about how terrible Besthesda is!

They don't give a [censored] about PC? Oh... wait... CREATION KIT? This alone makes Bethesda uber-awesome.

They don't give a [censored] about PS3? IIRC they released the 1.2 (buggy) patch early so they get their long-term framerate issues fixed ASAP

People really need to stop talking out of their as*es and actually think before posting.

Is my frame rate improved on PS3 NO! have they lowered the gfx in an effort to reduce lag YES.

People really need to stop touching themselves over bethesda and realise they are a company producing a product.

Sorry I've been using SLI'd systems for years. There is a great community. There are rarely any dangers, outside of maybe not having day 1 support for a
I can not, nor will not vouch for crossfire though.

I'd like to add, I don't just use my sli'd system(s) for gaming. I fold, use Boinc, etc etc etc.

This patch isn't supposed to "improve you framerate" all across the board. It is merely supposed to fix issues associated with playing 8 hours in a row with a large save file.

@OP;

Morrowind and the X box saved bethesda from going belly up. They became a console centered company because that is where their bread is buttered. It seems logical that they focus on console gaming rather than wasting resources on every new or niche PC development that comes along. They don't need it to make money, and don't seem to care if they use the latest in technology in the games they make. they'd rather focus on getting the most out of an aging machine than rush to the cutting edge of PC tech.

Can you blame them when 80% of their revenue comes from the little boxes PC gamers hold in such contempt. (er fear and loathing?)

I play on a pc and I don't care about the developers not supporting certain schemes. I'm kind of glad actually. I don't have to keep pouring cash into the latest tech to play their games. It would be nice if they wouldn't break their games when they make changes for DLC content. I had a smooth running FO;NV until the game was patched for the third DLC. I can only hope that this doesn't happen when they patch for the upcoming DLC for skyrim.

Havok is outdated, but the problem is not with Havok itself, but the way it's implemented, it can be clearly seen in game how incorrect values are assigned to havok enabled objects, objects floating, stuff flying across the room just because a door was opened, one of my favorites was watching a cart my character bumped into fly clear into the air at supersonic speed.

SLI problems have been a fingerpointing contest between NVIDIA and Bethesda for years, with neither side willing to budge. I thought it might change with Bethesda saying the engine for TESV would be "new", but it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
