Sometimes when i walk around skyrim i start hearing this strange sound. It's always louder at a certain area and when i search where it's coming from i never find anything so it's as if something invisible is producing the sound.

It's pretty hard to describe what it sounds like but it sounds like someone playing a harp like instrument, but only a lot louder and more of a magical sound to it ( if that makes any sense ^_^ )
I heard it about 4 different times now and it's always been near a river in the southern part of skyrim.

So, anyone else heard this strange sound that seems to come from an invisible harp player? :shifty: Or is it quest/random encounter related?

You're not talking about the Nirnroot sound, are you? Kind of a high pitched ringing sound? You said it was always near a river, so that's why I guess Nirnroot.

i would guess a nirnroot, a plant that grows near rivers and glows at night.

Collect as many of them as possible....especially the tertiary effect is very interesting, one of the few ingredients that has this:



At night, you might find them easier, as they kinda glow in the dark.

Actually, since yesterday's patch, I noticed that they no longer glow for me. This seems like as good a place as any to mention it. Anyone else noticed this?

possible. but to me they seem more akin to a bad case of acne, due to their location in [spoiler] Blackreach [/spoiler. requires more study before I can make an accurate assessment.
