I heard there were some gloves you could find inan underground area which fortify your hand to hand damage.... could anyone fill me in where they are etc?

They are in the Ratways in Riften, an npc has them equipped, once you killed them you can take them.

IDK but its a big guy that only punches.

Yup, then you can disenchant and make my famous gloves of fisting!

They do extra damage when striking from behind

Also, they are not gloves, but light armor (which kinda svcks actually).
