Heavy Armor and Disease

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:07 pm

A friend of mine and I are both playing Skyrim. Both of us at lvl 17, both playing Nord female warriors. The only really difference (well, besides my character being better looking ;) ) is that he's concentrating on one-handed/light armor and I've been two-handed/heavy armor pretty much from the get-go. So far, I've contracted 1 disease, he's gotten 8--both of us have run into approximately the same numbers of bears, traps, skeevers and the like. Does heavy armor provide me with protection against disease as he claims (and would make sense since it'd be harder for things to sink thru the armor and actually touch me) or is his character just a Sleep-Around Sue, likely hanging in bars with Orcs of unknown quality, running off with any bard who has a kind word and besides, look at how she's dressed! (As I claim.)

**Caution: Speculation Ahead***

It sounds reasonable to me that with a less of a chance of getting hit/damaged would lead to a less of a chance of contracting a disease. Can't speak to Armor affecting you getting hit ON though... :hubbahubba:

I'm guessing it's random, or perhaps due to you using two-handers. They have a longer reach, so you can squish skeevers and such before they get a chance to infect you.

Hee! It's been fun seeing the difference in our play style and reactions to what NPCs say since he's a guy playing a girl and I'm a girl playing a girl. We both have the same reaction to Belethol (sp?), though--we'd both like to nail his greasy, sleazy hide to the nearest barn door. *shudders*
