FUS... RO DAH

Anyone else prefer the trailer FUS RO DAH to the game version? Sounds kind of bleh to be honest.

I just use FUS in combat. Most practical.

It's certainly cheapest, not sure if most practical. Full shout sends enemies flying like leaves in the wind.

Yeah. I was expecting that, not the random pause between the first and second words.

Yes, but FUS staggers then, and when you're all damage like me, thats what counts. It only takes 15 seconds for it to recharge, allowing you to use it in a multi-combat enviroment.

Meh the effects are what I care about most. It's always nice too send enemies flying back with a full shout.

:P But when they go flying off a cliff you don't need to wait for it to recharge.

Ever hiked up High Hrothgar and killed every single monster on the way with a full FUS RO DAH!?

It's really fun, you should try it :D

Agreed. I kinda expected for my character to shout "DOVAHKIIN!" the first time I killed a dragon.
Nope. :c

A Bosmer male's shout?

I think my guy's balls dropped ten inches when he killed that first dragon.

I take it you're talking about the sound and, yeah, it sounded better in the trailer.

However, this is one of my favorite shouts. I hadn't used it much until one day my character was in the middle of the main quest. He was locating a certain significant character from a certain, uh, sewer system, when suddenly he was attacked by Thalmor. Surrounded by the three of them, he turned to flee, ran down a narrow hallway. Turning, he saw them hot on his heels. Desperate, I toggled open the magic menu and selected that shout - I don't know why. As soon as I hit Z, the Thalmor when rolling. It was a like a mini paralyze spell.

My character charged forward and killed one of them before he even got to his feet.

The key to using this shout is timing. Fire your ranged attack - bow or spell - then when the enemy get close enough, hit them with the shout. Be prepared to switch to a melee weapon and close in quickly. You can usually hit them at least two times before they get to their feet (my characters use two swords). By the time they get to their feet and maybe hit you once, it's charged and ready to use again.

Also, there is no more fun in the world than sending spiders rolling, rolling, rolling.

I like the pause. It pays homage to the nature of the dragon language.

It probably uses soft and hard stresses to make the meaning of the words change/conjugate with other words in the phrase.
