Do you use crosshairs?

I have been working on not using crosshairs. It's awesome with close combat because it feels more immersive, but it's hard as hell with archery.

I wouldn't bother. The game is challenging enough as a pure archer. :/

For melee, I play in third person. I'm so used to my character's animations that I don't need the crosshair when I swing my swords; I know where they'll go.

For archery, I play in first person and I use the crosshair every time.

Never used them, but I've just started an archer character and it is bloody hard. More skill though I guess! I tried switching it back on for the archer but I'd got so used to it without that it was just annoying having a thing in the middle of the screen. I've got a lot better at shooting without it though. Definitely more satisfaction when you get that sweet ass long range sneak kill without the crosshair!

I've been able to figure out the spot where it will go on the screen. It's about a centimeter above the point of the arrow. That doesn't make it any easier when something agile and fast is charging at you, though.

Oh, and you lied about the long range sneak kill without the crosshair. When you sneak, the crosshair still pops up because of the hidden icon.

I'd prefer to play without any HUD at all, but it becomes impossible when trying to talk to people in towns. You'll often accidentally steal their fork or something.

All I want from the HUD is a tiny dot in the center of the screen, and a compass that I can toggle on and off.

The rest of it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so huge, but I can't stand any of it as it is. Sneaking is the worst, because my eyes keep getting drawn to that gigantic line/eyeball in the center of the screen that I can't enjoy the scenery.

I tried turning it off as I'm an archer in real life and fancied trying to aim with the point of the arrow like I do when shooting myself, but as mentioned above I discovered that even with the crosshair turned off, the sneaking icon is still present. As most of my shots are performed from stealth, it made turning off the crosshair somewhat redundant. Oh well :/

I had it off for the first 25 hours then turned it on. It was getting tiresome trying to pick things up. It's really unobtrusive though.
