Skyrim missing very important things: Moondust & Skooma

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:32 pm

Yep,

How is it that MW and places have "dens" but not Skryim?

Meeting an occasional Moondust and Skooma dealer on the road doesn't cut it!

Bethesda, Skoom me UP Scotty.......

Because in this game, skooma gives you a lousy 25 stamina. Compare this to Morrowind where sujamma gives you 50 strength for 30 seconds.

Hopefully some people don't forget the poor druggies when they mod the game.

Giving Skooma/Moon Sugar a lot more side effects (not all positive, ofcourse) and maybe having a den or 2 would be amazing. I loved the Bravil Skooma den with all its deformed inhabitants.

Oh really?! Care to enlighten me of its location, in spoiler brackets ofcourse.

All I found was the occasional dealer on the road and a few bandit caves that had some skooma.

I really would love to Modders to make put more effects into Skooma... I mean, really ? Skooma regenerates 25 Stamina, that's it ?

What if it have an addicting effect, i mean, you'll slowly loosing Health and Stamina if you don't use one bottle of Skooma everyday.. That would be awesome.

And it would be cool to enter in a Cave and find out that it is a Bandit Stronghold, but not normal Bandits.. but Skooma Dealers !

Moondust, good one

I agree though, the whole drug culture isn't really prominent enough.
Then again, Skyrim is very far away from Elsweyr and there are barely any Khajiit besides the trade caravans

Although it's also true that every other bandit appears to be a skooma addict

Funny about this. My husband made a comment to me in the car the other day, "Where is the Skooma dens?" I simply replied, "I have no idea, have yet to find one."

I so miss the crazy people with their crazy addiction and slurring words of "wisdom." :P

It should at the very least mess with your vision the way Nighteye does, especially the fading around the edges.

I don't like the idea of addiction to be honest, that feels a bit too forced. But I might just throw in some (silly) ideas of my own.
- Seeing a lot of creatures as a little deformed, the way the engine and psysics of Oblivion could stretch bodies.
- More positive effects, increased damage with melee and ranged weapons seems most plausible, maybe magicka regen for mages.
- Negative effects, previously it drained stamina I think, which sounds pretty logical. More logical than restoring stamina. Maybe reduce resistances?

You are pratically putting ALOT of positive effects... Skooma is a drug, it shouldn't have that much positive effects...

If you're looking for that, then whoever mods it:

Skooma, when taken in a city, should force the character to travel package to random city dwellers ( even invading houses ) to profess how they have discovered that they are Talos and that they know the secret of existence, which is to exist. Other skooma heads will follow the player for a time harassing the town guards and wasting townfolks time in conversation / preaching. Then everyone hugs and sits down. Loading screen passes a few game hours, then control is returned to the player.

Chance of going to jail, loosing worn armor, cannot draw weapon ( pacifist ) for two game hours or cannot run for four game hours, and refuses to smith or enchant for 8 hours.

I have no idea what moon dust would simulate.
