PC timescale?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 5:59 am

Hey.

Anyone else out there wanting to change the timescale in Skyrim? I just feel that sometimes days go by way to fast. Are there any "cons" or "pros" by doing this? I was looking at setting the timescale at maybe 5 or so, if possible. 1 real life minute equals 5 ingame minutes. Is this insane?

Yeah. And i don't want to "waste" days walking around.. Timescale should be 1:1 imo. Might have to change it. Any views on pros/cons, people?

It could [censored] up your dungeons and other things, I would wait until more people tried it.

Or backup your saves.

I changed timescale in Oblivion all the time. I usually went to 15:1 or 10:1 and it worked perfectly fine, and was a great compromise between excruciatingly long 1:1 time days, and the bizarrely short default times. It never screwed up any dungeons or NPCs.

Default is twenty, it's more agreeable Oblivion's 30.

In Oblivion changing the timescale could break few quests initially (fixed later in a patch, or was it the unoficial patch?), so there's a change that something may break.

I was going to say it sure feels like longer days than Oblivion, and just right for my tastes. I played Oblivion at 20 so no wonder I like Skyrim's default :)

I changed it to 1:10 and haven't encountered problems so far.

Only two quests in Oblivion could be bugged by changing the timescale. Skyrim is pretty new and there are lots of bugs in different quests. I doubt it's possible to attribute a certain bug to timescale even if we found it.

I have set the timescale to 5 and so far it's fine. Time will still elapse when you are talking people so I think the timescale should be much slower.

I never had any trouble changing the timescale in any Bethesda game. Usually, if a quest is time sensitive, your character is told about that right up front one way or another and you can change easily timescale back to what the game expects it to be.

(I use 10, sometimes 8)

If I could change it, I would set it to 5. That is the timescale I use for FO3. It "feels" right. I play Skyrim on a PS3, so no change.
