Skyrim pc specs

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:29 pm

So I'm gonna by my myself a new graphics card for Christmas but fallout NV lags for me. But I talked to some pc guru and he says I could probably play skyrim without it lagging. And he knows fallout lags and he said fallout is a "heavy" games and I could most likely run skyrim. My question is, if I lag during fallout would I be able to play skyrim without it skipping and laggin?

Cheers

That's over $2,000.

I have a much weaker computer and run on ALMOST max settings at a resoltuion 1920x1080.

No, you don't need to get the best of the best to run this game well.

OP: New Vegas isn't as demanding as Skyrim. Skyrim is much more. A card with at least 1GB of VRAM will run it fine.

Skyrim is more demanding than FO:NV. Your would-be "Guru" isn't good enough. Meanwhile, there was no need at all to start still another duplicate of the same thing.

There already has been a Master thread for your question, here:

Skyrim is a processor intensive game. A strong GPU helps, but it's your processor that's going to ensure smooth gameplay.

Your graphics card is only as powerful as the processor driving it. Weak processors with a strong graphics card just create frustrating bottlenecks.
